so, the new Paste Magazine (with Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic on the cover) has a tag saying "FREE DVD INSIDE." There's even a page saying what's on the "Free DVD," and the question "want a DVD with every issue? Be sure to subscribe."
Um... my subscription Paste "We get it at least half right" Magazine arrived yesterday... in its plasticwrap... no DVD. WTF? I wouldn't have minded, had they not gone to all of that trouble telling me what I've apparently missed... ~fff -------------------- "If music is dying, musicians are killing it." - Mike Patton

QUOTE(teleguy2 @ Dec 4 2004, 05:25 PM) Kaki King was amazing!! If anyone is familiar with Phil Keaggy tell me what you think about her performance on the DVD. Sweet guitar-playing wunder-kid. I've been asking for Everybody Loves You for quite some time now, but haven't had a chance to hear it yet, much less see a video. I concur on your elevated opinion of her kick-ass factor, though. -------------------- "I'm trying to feel more well adjusted than I really am, which is, I guess, the human condition." - Douglas Coupland, Microserfs

since I publically flogged those bats at Paste, I guess I'll publically redeem them as well.
I got a replacement issue of the Dec/Jan issue with the DVD inside. And I didn't even email them or complain to customer support. It just re-arrived on its own accord. Yay! No more bitchfest... until next month's issue. thanks, Paste... ~fff -------------------- "If music is dying, musicians are killing it." - Mike Patton

The inevitable:
QUOTE A partial snippet from John Austin via Michael Krahn re: the Paste merger with some Christian Investment Group: John Austin: Just wanted to let you know that Paste Media Group officially sold themselves to DC3 (a Christian investment group), and, despite our best efforts, they are closing down Paste Records. According to the label president, their deal with DC3 is primarily focused on funding the growth of the magazine. They argue that the label does not contribute to that goal so it needs to go away. I know I shouldn't be surprised...but it just figures, you know? Grrr... -------------------- "There is no mystery in art. Do the things you can see, they will show you what you cannot see."

QUOTE(posty mcposterton @ Mar 9 2005, 04:33 PM) Exactly. (Apparently, John Austin was in the middle of releasing a new project on their label. Not sure who else...) -------------------- "There is no mystery in art. Do the things you can see, they will show you what you cannot see."
