i'm far from done, but this is just the incentive i need to do it!

I have taken myself off of almost all of my meds, excluding nexium, which I am trying to wean myself away from now. No more prozac or sleeping pills - it's amazing the stress I was under in the corporate world. Who knew being unemployed would be so healthy for me!

Good for you, otrfan!
I got a new bike today, for only 573 dollars! (My old frame broke and was covered under warrantee, so I paid that for everything that goes on the frame and the labor to put it on. It is a brand new bike except for the pedals, the bottle cages, the speedometer, and the seat.) Ok, so I am in debt now, but at least I will be riding again, and hopefully that will wean me off my medication before the end of the year. I would rather pay 600 bucks to the shop for a bike than 600 bucks to the brainshrinker and her assistants for some artificial peace of mind.

I have FINALLY managed to book an appointment with the screening clinic. This has been a tremendous ordeal. I only finally got in now after flipping from tired-but-composed student mode to screaming-hysterical-and-desperate mental banshee mode when the nurse tried to put me off again... but hey. Whatever works, right? (Must work on dealing constructively with disappointment. Must learn control....)

You know, I was trying to write a 50,000 word novel in February. I missed the 50,000 mark by a longshot, but when I looked at what I'd written and peeled away that parts I didn't love, I found nearly 8,000 words that are good. I'm going to be proud of that for now. And hopefully I will watch it grow to be a bigger story. smile.gif

After 6 months of paperwork, worrying, fedex, emails, chat sessions, and
phone calls - the fiancee visa was delivered to Elly yesterday in Manila.

I will fly there in May and meet her family, then bring her home.

We met online in Jan 2004 and in person May 2004, and 1 year later she'll be here!!
Hard to believe its been a year already.

Congrats Dave! Best of luck!

And Dave's cookies... holy cow. Had those at CST. I thought I was talkin to a goatee-clad Martha Stuart (minus the pin stripes, of late).
