SPOILERS !! DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU WANT TO BE SURPRISED AT THE TAFT SHOW OR ANY SHOWS ON THIS CHRISTMAS TOUR..

Columbus, OH 11/29/03.

Susan Enan opened up. 45 minute set. Very good as usual.

OtR hit the stage around 10pm.

As Linford said in the last letter,"We'll be playing these shows as if they're our last."
They meant it. I've only seen them live 5 times, but this was the best show of them all. Karin was wailing from the first song to the last. They really seemed to be having fun.

Do not miss this Christmas tour.

Set list (written down during the show)

HOMETOWN BOY
SHOW ME
LONG LOST BROTHER
NOBODY NUMBER ONE
DARLING XMAS IS COMING
ALL I GET FOR XMAS IS BLUE
I RADIO HEAVEN
LET IT GO
OHIO
GIVE ME STRENGTH
LIFELONG FLING
SILENT NIGHT
POUGHKEEPSIE
LET IT BE
-------------
ENCORE

BPD
JACKS VALENTINE
LATTER DAYS

Highlights:

Nobody number one - best version ever, Karin was amazing on this one. Very lively.

Lifelong Fling seemed slower than usual and was extended a bit. It gets better each time I hear it.

Give Me Strength - Karin on piano, Matt Slocum on cello. With a long intro.
Incredibly beautiful.

Let it Be - yes - the Beatles. Karin on piano, Linford on organ doing the Billy Preston thing. Awesome.

Matt - the new guitar guy - played pedal steel, slide, cello, with a great solo on let it be. Very solid. He nailed I Radio Heaven.

I Let it go - off Cutting Room Floor

Poughkeepsie - somebody requested it so they played it.

Karin introduced everyone , and then introduced herself "I'm Karin Bergquist and we're Over the Rhine"

Linford still has the beard, but the curls from the hall of fame show have straightened out. Back to the everyday gorgeous straight look.

Over and out.

I hope somebody taped this show, it's a keeper.

Yippidee-do-dah....!!!
Thanks for the review, Dave...it sounds like it was a great night.
Nice to see the Christmas songs in the setlist....it's comin'...!
Also happy to see 'Jack's Valentine' on the list as well.
Glad to hear the new band group is a hit....I'm excited about March.
Karin's hair is beautiful however she wears it, I'm sure.. she is such a beautiful woman...it hurts.
The beard for Linford....ooh yeahhhh, baby....see, he DOES look like Tom Cruise!
Hubba....

thanks dave. "let it be"...wow!

they have recently closed these christmas shows with a group encore, a cover something of relevance in today's world. i was quietly hoping to possibly hear something to honor george harrison's passing...i could just imagine hearing karin singing "all things must pass" in my head [and it was amazing, by the way]. but, "let it be" will do just fine by me.
