For those interested (i.e., doing Weight Watchers), I got the nutritional info on the Frappuccino Lights:

Venti Coffee,  3 points  Grande, 3 points    Tall, 2 points
Venti Mocha, 4points      Grande, 3 points    Tall, 2 points
Venti Caramel, 4 points  Grande, 3 points    Tall, 3 points

Keep in mind, this does not inculde whipped cream, which is high all by itself.
Enjoy.

I think a great yummy coffee drink for a dieter is a... Cafe Americano w/ room for cream

how I like it... 1-2 oz of half-n-half:
...(1oz HnH) -> 55 Calories / 3.9g Fat / 3.9g Carb... or...
...(2oz HnH) -> 94 Calories / 7.4g Fat / 5.2g Carb

A 16 oz-er is basically 2 shots of espresso with hot water... then you add 1-2oz of half-n-half (or milk for even less diet impact)... it's almost cappucino-esque, without causing major diet wreckage and without costing much ($2.00 or so at even Starbucks).

Wolfgang Puck also recently released low-calorie/low Carb (splenda) bottled frappucino knock-offs. I've only tried the Vanilla. It was gross. You could taste the sucralose... blech... wacko.gif Those SB Frapp Lights are good, but still too sucralose-y... tongue.gif

I'm on a minor diet (read: "I didn't want to buy new pants, so I'm dropping 20 pounds instead"), but I try to avoid highly unnatural foods like Splenda, Equal, Sweet-n-Lo... personal opinion: those things seem wrong. Natural seems better to me. If I've gotta have sweet, I'd still prefer real sugar over any chemical sugar. Sugar in the raw is preferred over the bleached stuff, too.

Blue, Yellow, and Pink packets weren't in the garden of Eden, eh? dry.gif

I think I said this on another thread, but I've been dieting since the first of the year and subsequently switched all my soda drinking to diet versions. I can't do splenda because it gives me wicked headaches, so I've been doing the old school nutrasweet varieties--ie diet coke, diet mountain dew, diet dr pepper--you get the idea.

Well, funny thing since the first of the year, I can't remember anything. I have this annoying inability to multitask, find it hard to concentrate, and sometimes can't even find the right words to finish a sentence. So, I go to the doctor on Tuesday. Turns out Nutra sweet or more correctly, Aspertame, or Phenylalinine, is the culprit. Aspertame KILLS neuron connections in your brain. Thus causing short term memory loss, headaches, on down the line. This pisses me off. I would be angrier, but I can't seem to remember all the reasons why--only part joke. The thing that makes me the most angry is that the FDA is aware of all this (and probably more) but does not require a warning label for products containing aspertame. Most resources I find on the web say I have to wait 60 days minimun before I know if I suffered any permanent damage to my brain cells and neuron connections.

More people need to know about how dangerous this stuff is. For a start, people can go here to find out more. I highly recommend that anyone who consumes the stuff, stop immediately. It does seem to affect different people in different ways, but who can say what the long term effects will be on those who don't immediately show any side effects?

Peace out,
Mark

I don't ever drink or eat anything that has Aspertame in it, it causes me to have migraines and dizziness. Plus, I think it tastes terrible, anyway, I have heard that it stimulates appetite so if you are dieting that is the last thing you want to happen.

Dan,

That's my drink! $1.95 here in the bay area for a tally roomy americano with vanilla at Starbucks. It's always more expensive at other local shops which is annoying, but not all that surprising. And damn, it's so good.

I need coffee. NOW.

I forgot what it's good to know... but it's good to know that it's good to know...
